Music producers & Mix engineers have been running audio (vocals / guitars / bass / drums / whole mixes etc) into guitar and bass amps for years to add some excitation from both amplifier overdrive & speaker compression. Trouble is - it’s kinda noisy - and a bit of a pain in the ass to implement - you need good mics, good mic preamps, a collection of guitar amps - a lotta knowledge - & Very understanding neighbours. Lucky for you we at Shrunkenheadsstudios London have done All the hard work for ya! All you need is an IR loader like Melda Convolution MB / Kilohearts Convolver / Audiothing Fog Convolver - & Bam! Run these files in parallel (exactly like parallel compression) - & level to taste. They will add just the right amount & type of enhancement to any audio. There are three Microphone sets, A Telefunken Condenser, A B&O BM6 Ribbon, & A Shure sm57 - all running through an API 512 mic preamp - & all with several stages of saturation. There is a second folder with longer versions of the impulse responses. The main shorter set are for guitarists to use in Kempers etc - the ones with longer tails are for mix engineers to add roominess & space to the audio they are processing.
